Angeline Yuchi Chang
User Experience Designer
Hi, I’m Angeline Chang. I designed AI-assisted decision making tools and enterprise information systems for healthcare professionals. I also designed the design systems that unify the UI design, UX principles, and the corresponding frontend components and practices to build these products. Currently, I am pursuing my master’s degree in Human-Centered Design & Engineering at the University of Washington.
My interests in UX sparked from my passion for creative problem solving and human experiences. Entering the undergraduate program as an economics major, I found the analytical framing distant from human experiences and rigid for solving ill-defined problems. I then pursued a double major in Digital Technologies and Contents, where I learned about human-computer interaction, design thinking, and prototyping with technologies. These training equipped me with a structural approach to understanding human experiences, a thinking tool to approach ill-defined problems, and most importantly, lots of creative methods to experiment on ideas.
As a designer, I am motivated by reducing cognitive burden and improving decision-making in complex environments. I am particularly drawn to systems where human judgment and technology intersect, such as AI-assisted tools and large-scale information systems. My approach to design is grounded in research and systems thinking: I aim to understand the broader structures shaping user behavior, translate insights into clear problem framing, and iteratively prototype solutions that balance usability, trust, and technical feasibility. I am most passionate about designing tools that not only function efficiently, but also respect human agency and support meaningful experiences.
Outside of work, I enjoy sharing knowledge by facilitating design thinking workshops for education and technology organizations, and by mentoring groups from social impact initiatives or technology competitions. When I’m not immersed in design, I enjoy experimenting with matcha and coffee beverages, training at the gym for my next marathon, and finding balance through yoga and meditation.
